Became a professional illustrator in 1985, doing photorealistic pen and ink architectural illustrations, and doing detailed perspective layouts just as done during the renaissance using vanishing points and scale lines. He has an MArch degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. By 1995, had switched to digital illustration, and offered services until 2002. Became a licensed architect during that time. Completed Certificate in Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, gravitating toward fine art drawing and painting. Became a Professor of Interior Architecture in 1999. Past President of the ASAI. Retired from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020, and is currently Professor Emeritus.
